Do you vote? Or do you think it a waste of time?

When you are watching the polls/antics/circus called the 2005/2006 campaign … remember this!

There is no such thing as a wasted vote! As of 2003, your vote is now worth $1.75 in federal funding for every political party that gets a minimum of 2% of the national vote. On top of that, any candidate who manages to get 10% of the vote in their district will get half of their campaign cost back.

So don’t vote in protest. Stop! Take a look at the campaigns and vote on your beliefs.

When you vote what you feel, you’ll leave that voter’s booth with a better hope for Canadian politics.

Just to give you an idea of what a $1.75 means in the national picture (numbers based on latest CTV polls and 20 million voters)

LPC – 35% x 20 million voters x $1.75 = $12.25M(illion)
CPC – 29% x 20 million voters x $1.75 = $10.15M
NDP – 17% x 20 million voters x $1.75 = $5.95M
BQ – 14% x 20 million voters x $1.75 = $4.9M
GPC – 5% x 20 million voters x $1.75 = $1.75M

Total party funding (your tax dollars!!!) = $35M

So don’t waste your vote. Put your money where your health is!
