Glenn’s New Blog

Vanessa came by this morning and gave me some very good advice.

I told her that I had been intending to update my blog since the election back in January and that I had been saving newpaper clippings almost daily since then to comment on, but that I wanted to give the site a face lift first and hadn’t found the time.

You see, when I created the site I messed about with Movable Type and DreamWeaver and other softward till I got it to look how I wanted. It was fine for it’s purpose, but by no means elegant programming! So doing a face lift has been a task to be avoided since it would be a very major effort.

She said, “Take some advice. Delete and start over.”

So here goes. I am moving my blog to WordPress which, so far, seems infinitely easier to use for my purposes. I stiil have all the old content which I can, over time, cut and paste into the new format. And I will also be building on the site in terms of adding a banner, graphics, menus, pages, downloads, etc., but this time all within the WordPress format so as to not drive myself around the bend every time I want to change something simple.

Now that I have taken this leap, stay tuned as my first priority will be starting to comment on the daily news and the other changes will happen as I get time.
