Elizabeth May, long time executive director of the Sierra Club of Canada, has won the leadership of the Green Party of Canada at the recent national convention in Ottawa.
From all reports, Elizabeth has proven to many Green Party members that she has moved beyond her activist background and the “single issue” reputation that many feared would label the party with the same brush.
I look forward to working with Elizabeth and the other new council members as we take the party forward and work on winning seats in parliament.
Kudos and thanks as well to both David Chernushenko and Jim Fannon who ran strong, serious campaigns and have again raised the profile of the Green Party in the national media.
