The Newmarket-Aurora Federal Green Party Association has announced a nomination race beginning this Saturday and culminating with a members vote at our nomination meeting on Saturday April 21, 2007.
Several people have come forward to indicate an interest in running, and the deadlines for contestant submission are due by April 7, which is also the date by which you must be a member to vote for the nomination.
For the record, YES, I AM SEEKING THE NOMINATION!!!
And to do so, I NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Here’s how you can help….
- If you are currently a Green Party member, be sure your membership is up to date before April 7 and that you reserve the time on April 21st to come to the meeting and support me with your vote.
- If you are not yet a Green Party member, you can join by contacting me by April 7 via the form on this web site and I will visit you with a membership form, and then be sure to reserve the time on April 21st to come to the meeting and support me with your vote.
- Help me find at least two other people to join the party by April 7 and take time on April 21st to come to the meeting and support me with their vote.
- Organize an event! If you host a get together of family and/or friends and would like me to come talk to the group, contact me via the form above and I’ll be there, with membership forms in hand!
THIS is your chance to have a say in who will represent the Green Party in Newmarket-Aurora in the next federal election campaign.
I believe that I’ve shown that Newmarket-Aurora voters can count on me to provide a clear voice to deliver the Green Party message and offer a strong alternative to the other federal candidates in the riding, and I am committed to continuing this effort.
I believe that I have shown leadership and cooperation in growing the party. In the over the two years since Mollie and I hosted that first meeting which formed the Newmarket-Aurora EDA, we have grown our membership five-fold, attended and hosted numerous community events, and run a successful first election campaign. This work was not single handed, by any stretch, but team building and cooperation are essential qualities for a candidate. I am committed to continuing to work hard to grow the party in Newmarket & Aurora.
