Post Kyoto

Now that the Harper government has all but abandoned making any serious effort to meet our Kyoto Protocol committments (or even come close), we can see that the rest of the world is gearing up for the negotiations for a post-Kyoto treaty.

The United States has made their position clear aleady. The Toronto Star reported that the United States is battling to stop next month’s Group of Eight summit in Germany from pushing for urgent talks on a new deal to fight global warming after the Kyoto Protocol lapses in 2012.

The only question is, what will the Harper do? Will he support Washington-Alberta Oil Axis? Or will he support the citizens of the world?

In case it’s not obvious, this is a rhetorical question.

Garth Turner was correct last month when he said, “We need an election, and we need it now.”

When it comes, Vote for real leadership. Vote Green.
