So much for the convenience of public transit

Regular readers of this blog will know that Mollie and I sold our house and moved back in March 07 for many reasons, one of which was to be on a better bus route to the GO station. I normally take the 222 Newmarket-Aurora GO Shuttle. And you’ll also know that I have many complaints about YRT and GO not coordinating their route timing, the lack of a proper bus stop, and the lack of shelters for YRT riders.

It was raining tonight as I arrived back in Aurora on the 5:30 train and my bus was, as so often happens, late in arriving. Given that there’s no shelter to wait for the bus, I waited in the shelter by the train tracks.

Along comes a bus. Is it mine? Nope. That’s number 31 Aurora North heading west and north.

Ah, there’s another. Is it mine? Nope. Can’t read the number all the way over there, but I can clearly see it’s not 222.

And there it goes.

But wait! It’s changing it’s number as it drives away!! To 222!!!

Son of a bitch!

Want the next bus? Wait for the next one that doesn’t quite meet the next train.
