Mayor David Miller claims to be a “Green” mayor, but his threat to shut down the Sheppard Subway shows his true colours. There is nothing more necessary in the climate change battle than public transit and policies which will get people out of their cars.
Well, Mayor Miller, if you really want to be Green while addressing budget shortfalls, try the following approach:
- take all of the money out of road infrastructure for roadways which don’t have public transit routes.
- make bus only lanes on those that do.
- repair only the bus lanes within the roadways.
Potholes will have an amazing effect on discouraging car driving.
