Leafing through the Canadian Tire flyer, I notice this ad on their front page that you can get a free re-usable enviro shopping bag with any purchase on Saturday. Kudos to Canadian Tire. Wonderful. This is just the sort of thing I like to see. They should, of course, charge money for plastic bags but I’ll reserve judgement till I see if they are doing that.

Getting your re-usable bag will allow you, of course, to purchase and carry home your new inflatable halloween decoration. Plug it in for the season and scare all the kiddies!Seriously, I’m not trying to single out Canadian Tire.
They’re certainly not the only corporation to engage in greenwashing and in the very next breath clearly show that they just don’t get it.

Not sure what the problem is here. You can reuse these items NEXT year can’t you?
LOL. Yeah you can, but they’ll be full of hot air then as well! –Glenn
You can also be pretty sure most of that holloween stuff was made in china by virtual slave labour, in a factory built on siezed peasant land, powered by a belching coal plant, fueled by low quality high sulfur coal dug by hand in illegal death trap mines by the very people who use to farm on the that siezed land the factory is on. All this while someone in the communist party skims profits and turns a blind eye.
Most retailers have more to answer for than green washing.
True. And what are our federal and provincial governments doing about this? Sending trade missions to China so that we can increase this activity. Of course, this allows us to have low prices in our retail stores which these guys will try to convince you is good for families and good for our economy. So you get what you vote for. –Glenn
do you know what this bag is made out of and where its produced?
Nope. You? –Glenn
