CBC’s The National At Issue Panel discusses week 1 of the federal election.
The point of this discussion that I found most important was that of Chantal Hebert.
Canadians … took ownership of the election campaign this week … and I think it means that the parties who have been trying to hide their head in the sand thinking that this green thing is not serious, it’s just a parking lot, and it’s going to go away in the election, they need to wake up and smell the coffee here.
I think, as I’ve already said, that the biggest result of this first week is to show Canadian voters, particularly the 40% of voters who think that there is no difference between parties or that their vote does not matter, that THEY are in charge and CAN make all the difference.
