We arrived in Boxtel to visit Koos (my father’s 84 year old first cousin) in the mid afternoon on Tuesday, and spent the next couple of days visiting family. Koos’ daughter, Marie-Christine, lives just down the street and made a couple of excellent dinners for us, and for our final night we were invited to dinner with her mother, Jean. It is easy to see how Marie-Christine became such an excellent cook! We were also able to visit with Antoon and Tiny at their farm and by chance met their daughter Esther and granddaughter Jessica while sitting for a coffee in Boxtel.
After travelling to Utrecht by car with Koos and Hetty this morning, we bade them goodbye at the train station and headed to Amsterdam to enjoy our last night of our holiday before our flight tomorrow.
This has been a long trip and we are ready to go home, but Amsterdam is always a blast and a great way to put a smile on your face with some lasting memories of an exceptional holiday.
