In honour of the Commuter Challenge this week, I went looking for something to write about our daily commute to work, and found this on the David Suzuki Foundation web site.

Drive Green is a policy proposal that the David Suzuki Foundation has produced in their efforts toward “Sustainability Within A Generation”. It addressed that fact that existing tax rules for people driving company cars provide the same tax treatment for fuel efficient cars as for gas guzzlers, which would explain the number of SUV’s purchased or leased for employees since there is no financial incentive to do otherwise.

As many times as I have tried to explain the Green Party’s tax shifting policy to people, some are looking for concrete examples.

Many kudos to the David Suzuki Foundation for this fine work.
