The real cost of wind

You know, siting wind farms is a tricky business.

Given the almost zero emission status (some for manufacturing and construction, but zero operating emissions) for wind power, few people are against wind farms as a concept.  But you’ll find many against them when they are located near to where they live.  In my opinion, there are valid reasons and not-so-valid reasons for being upset at wind farm siting.

Noise? Valid concern.

Visual impact on the horizon? Not so much.

Tell that to the folks in Bruce County where the community has been divided along pro and con wind farms, and this includes the environmental community.
As some folks will say here, if you like wind farms so much, put them in provincial parks. Next, ask them if they have a problem with this? Aren’t they great?
