The theme for Challenge #1 was “Circles”.
Thanks, in no particular order to Ted, Donna, Dale, Marie, Jeannie, Lorne, Karen, Wilson, Mollie and Maddy for playing along.
Our obvious favourite this week was Circle of Life from Donna Williamson. Congrats, Donna. Good work! Donna gets to pick theme #3, which will be revealed very soon.

I vote for Circle of Life. I love the way the photo captures the sun coming through the seed pod. It’s beautiful.
My 1st pick is “Circle of Life”
Runnerup is “Water Lilies Dancing in the Sunlight”
They both made me Feel Good!
Ted
Circle of Life is just way too cool not to get my top vote!
Jeannie
p.s. and with all the circles out there, I love that 2 people both photographed money!
p.p.s. Thanx for doing this Glenn! It is going to be great fun!
My vote goes to “A Secret”
Runner up to “Waterlilies Dancing”
Don’t know if I’m allowed to vote as I didn’t submit, but here are my comments as I just had to say I think you all did an amazing job!
My 1st choice is the Circle of Life. Love the interpretation as well as the photography. Beautiful lighting – showing the fragility and the beauty of life. The stalks in the background dying as the seeds in the foreground are embraced and protected within the womb of the pod ready to start new life. Loved it!
My 2nd choice would be “Wheels of Commerce”. It caught my eye with its balance and the rich colours on the black background. Also made me feel calm and organized and wishful that my money was as organized and growing and growing and growing . . . . .
Lynn Murphy
I loved Air Vent – it had such an antique calming quality. The colour was perfect and loved the circles in the vent.
My 2nd choice was A Secret. Love all the water circles. That was my first thought for a pic.
Glenn, this is great fun & helps push our skills.
My first choice would have to be “Air Vent” – I loved the balance that the multiple circles gave. My next choice would be “Circle of Life” because the way the light hits the plant is just stellar.
Thanks for organizing this Glenn, it’s so much fun!
1) Wheels of Commerce
2) Sunny Circles
Lynn, your comments on the post are more than welcome. I’m pretty much limiting the official voting to those who submitted a photo, but may use the non-participant votes as a tie breaker.
Okey-Dokey, time for me to vote!
Here are the one’s that reached out and grabbed my attention…
1st = “Circle of Life”. I loved almost two toned colouring and lighting effect! Great Eye!
2nd = “The Thousand Islander”. Excellent composition/cropping!
1st: “Water Lilies Dancing in the Sunlight”
2nd: “The Thousand Islander”
So hard to choose, but I love the composition of both of these the best. Waterlilies is first just because it makes me feel so calm… *SIGH* I had to choose by asking myself which ones I would put on my wall!
Thanks for organizing this, baby!
Great job on the first round, everyone!
aw i guess my photo didnt get to you
Angie, I haven’t received a photo from you. Not to worry though, as there are no prizes in this game! Send me your photo via email (I sent you a FB message with my address) and I will include it when I modify this post to reveal the photographer names. Even though it was not in for the voting, we’d still like to see your photo.
In future, I’m working on a more automated means of submitting photo’s, but I have a few technical hurdles to overcome including moving the blog to a new host, so that may be a few weeks. I’ll continue to use email in the meantime.
BTW, for all of the submitters and commenters, here’s a tip:
Go to the web site http://www.gravatar.com
You can sign up for free and put in a little picture to represent yourself like the one you see in my comments. It is tied to the email address you submit, so you can have a different pic per email address if you like.
Most blog themes now recognize this so that when you are commenting on blogs your Avatar shows up.
Cheers!
