“Where I come from, everyone on the team pulls in the same direction, and everyone works till the work is done.”
Glenn has an extensive background in the energy business. A graduate of McMaster University, Glenn began his career at a large natural gas utility, quickly moving into the design and construction field. He has since been involved in the power generation industry and consulting engineering, where he has been responsible for large scale design and construction projects and led multidisciplinary engineering teams. Glenn now works as a Business Development Manager at a power generation utility.
“York Region has been, and continues to be, one of Canada’s fastest growing municipalies, and governments of all levels have been allowing market forces to drive this growth with virtually no plan for the infrastructure needs or for the changing needs in infrastructure created by Climate Change and Peak Oil. The citizens of Newmarket-Aurora are very concerned about the problem which has been created by municipal governments allowing development without a viable, long term strategy for power, transportation, emission reductions, water supply, etc. The plans by the provincial and federal governments are short sighted and do not address the long term needs of our community, so we end up building infrastructure that will not be sustianable. We know this, and it keeps happening, because we have a federal government more concerned about political strategies and holding power than solving problems.”
“I am running for office to represent the people of Newmarket-Aurora because I believe that it is essential that our elected representatives have a background that enables them to understand, decipher and articulate the highly complex issues, and the interconnection between those issues, that are facing our governments today as they plan for a society that will be sustainable for future generations.”
“Our governments at all levels must lead the way to a sustainable future by making smart environmental choices resulting in the best economic returns for people and companies. The Green Party’s policy of tax shifting will accomplish that goal by shifting the focus of taxation to resources, energy and waste, and simultaneously lowering taxes on employment and profits. Our policies will benefit the environment while increasing employment, disposable income and corporate profits at the same time.”
